Join Herbert Sigüenza, founding member of Culture Clash and Playwright in Residence at San Diego Repertory Theater, for a special sneak preview live table read of his new play, “Project Grand Master Funk Isaac Asimov X,” based on the life and writings of legendary science fiction legend Isaac Asimov! It’s 1990. Asimov is ill and has to archive his writings and documents before he dies. He gets unexpected help from a beautiful and brilliant Latinx student that is on assignment to preserve his legacy and perhaps save humanity as well! This science fiction docu-comedy is scored with 1980’s Funk music making it whimsical, smart and funky!
An accomplished writer, performer and playwright, Herbert Sigüenza has written critically-acclaimed plays about Abbie Hoffman, Pablo Picasso and a futuristic Chican@ adaptation of Shakespreare’s Henry IV, Part One. Sigüenza also voiced the characters of Tio Felipe and Tio Oscar in the award-winning Disney • Pixar animated film Coco.
